Total Eclipse – Your Questions Answered

The Upstate area is preparing for the upcoming, once-in-a-lifetime total eclipse. Hotels are sold out and visitors will be pouring in, but there are still some questions floating around. We’re here to give you the answers.

When: Specific times will vary slightly across the Upstate, but most will see the eclipse begin around 1pm on Monday, August 21st, and it will end around 4pm. It will be at it’s peak, total eclipse around 2:30. Visit this map to see the times in your area.

Safety: Viewing a total eclipse can still be dangerous for your eyes. Be sure to wear special, protective glasses when viewing the eclipse. But beware scammers selling fake glasses. See a list of reputable sellers here.
